Edgecombe Arts is a non-profit agency that was chartered in 1985 to nurture and promote the arts and cultural heritage of the Tar-Pamlico River Basin for all citizens of Edgecombe County.

• Operate and maintain the historic 1808 Blount-Bridgers House
• Operate and maintain the Pender History Museum and Phillips Dependency
• Operate the Hobson Pittman Memorial Gallery for changing exhibitions
• Maintain the Hobson Pittman Studio - an exhibition on the artistic works of Tarboro-native painter Hobson Pittman
• Develop the Blount-Bridgers Gardens - a garden of Edgecombe County nineteenth century native plant species on the grounds of the Blount-Bridgers House
• Sponsor cultural events throughout the county including showcasing local and national talent at the Keihin Auditorium at Edgecombe County Community College
• Maintain architectural records of the Tarboro Historic District and Edgecombe County
• Rent Blount-Bridgers House and grounds for weddings, meetings, parties, etc.

• Happening on the Common, an annual community arts festival held the third Saturday in May on Tarboro’s historic Town Common
• 2nd Saturdays, an old fashioned market day on the Blount-Bridgers House grounds including Farmer's Market vendors, live music, crafts and demonstrations, and farm animals
• The Great Tarboro Art Bazaar, an annual sale of regional artists' work held at the Blount-Bridgers House featuring affordable art for beginning collectors as well as more mature art for seasoned collectors
• Art exhibits that promote local and regional artists and craftsmen displayed in the Hobson Pittman Memorial Gallery on the second floor of the Blount-Bridgers House
