 Blount-Bridgers House & Gallery Schedule

 

   The Blount-Bridgers House and the Hobson Pittman Memorial Gallery are open for regular hours Wednesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sunday afternoons, 2 'til  4. Call 252-823-4159 for information or go online at www.edgecombearts.org.

 

March 5 - April 30 - Roanoke Rapids painters Christina Gregory, Jan Sullivan Volz, Susan Watson with potters Kathy & Dan Blackmon from Wilson. Gallery reception Thursday, March 11, 5:30 - 7:30.

May 6 - June 30 - Artist Stacey Patterson with potter Mark Gordon. Gallery reception Thursday, May 13, 5:30 - 7:30.

May 6 - Spring Garden Symposium - 8:30 a.m. - 5 pm - sponsored by the Blount- Bridgers Garden Committee.  A full day featuring two speakers, garden vendors, tours of seven gardens, catered luncheon in the churchyard and afternoon tea in the Blount-Bridgers gardens.  $60 per person for full day, or $40 for morning lecture and lunch and $40 for afternoon lecture and tea. May 15 - Happening on the Common - 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Our 39th annual outdoor arts festival held on Tarboro’s historic Town Common presented by the Edgecombe County Cultural Arts Council and Tarboro Parks and Rec. Stage performances all day, a waterfowl show, artists, crafters, children's activities, inflatable amusements, food vendors and more.

June-July - Summer Art Camps & Manners Camp to be announced.

August 6 - September 25 - “Painting the Town” - a special exhibit by members of the Tarboro Artists Guild is planned as part of Tarboro’s year-long 250th Birthday Celebration.  Gallery reception Thursday, August 12, 5:30 - 7:30.

September 17 - October 24 - Farmville collector, Bob Newton shares his Eastern Carolina Railway Exhibit

November 4 - Great Tarboro Art Bazaar - Gala Preview Party 5:30 - 8:30. Open to the public November 5 - 28

December 10 - February 28, 2011- Annual Hobson Pittman Exhibit showing works that were the subject of an extensive collection conservation endeavor.
